As the oldest city in Bremer County, Janesville is full of rich history. In 2008, a new housing addition brought over 50 more homes to the community for new home buyers on the East side of town, providing beautiful new homes to Janesville citizens as well as encouraging community growth.

2020 brought many improvements to the community, including upgrades to local parks & park shelters, paving of additional trails , improvements to the local ball diamond and playground equipment, and more. In 2018, the community broke ground on the addition to the school, upgrading equipment and providing students with modern spaces in which to learn and grow.
